Driving Inclusion Together - What's been happening at Epic Arts.

This month has been full of action at Epic Arts! Our Social Work & Community Support team brought children, families and education partners together to advance inclusion and protect children’s rights. Peer Groups gave young participants a safe space to share, support each other and take action against abuse. Meanwhile, parents and guardians strengthened leadership at our Parent Club, ensuring their voices are heard.

If you’re in Kampot, don’t miss our weekly Cambodian Sign Language class every Friday, 4-5 pm at Epic Arts Café, a friendly way to connect and promote inclusion.

To all our incredible supporters, thank you. Your continued belief in our mission helps us champion a world where every person counts (EPiC).

Inspiring Stories

Savy’s Journey with Epic Arts

“I love working with people with disabilities and being able to communicate with everyone around me,” says Savy Ork, Team Leader of Epic Arts Dance.

Savy, who is deaf, has been part of Epic Arts since the very beginning. First invited in 2005 to join games and activities for people with disabilities, he went on to dance at the Epic Arts Café in 2006. Now he leads Epic Arts Dance with a strong focus on supporting each team member’s unique abilities.

What makes Savy most proud is not one single achievement, but the chance to share Epic Arts’ message in communities across Cambodia. “Every time I go out and tell people about Epic Arts, I feel proud,” he explains.

For Savy, disability inclusion means no discrimination, ensuring everyone is treated as equals. His advice for others is simple but powerful: “Spread the message of disability inclusion, whether on social media or in person.”

From those first days of fun and games to leading Cambodia’s most inspiring inclusive dance team, Savy’s journey shows how one person’s passion can help shape a more inclusive future.

Epic Arts to Host Inaugural FELM Asia Disability Rights Network 2025

Epic Arts is thrilled to share that we’ll be hosting the very first FELM Asia Disability Rights Network (ADRN) 2025 this September.

This landmark seminar, funded by our long-standing partners at FELM (Finland), marks the start of a four year regional initiative to strengthen collaboration, innovation, sustainable development and advocacy for disability inclusion across Asia.

From 16-18 September disability focused organizations from Cambodia, Nepal and Myanmar will come together to share ideas, build partnerships and inspire inclusion through arts and education. With interactive workshops, cultural performances and meaningful exchanges, this event is all about breaking barriers and building a more inclusive future.

We are honoured to launch this important journey right here in Kampot, with the support of FELM and all our incredible partners.

SA’ART at Epic Arts Café: Creativity with Heart

Meet Mary, one of Epic Arts’ longtime stars. She began her journey with Epic Arts as a dancer with Epic Arts Dance and today is part of the team at Epic Arts Café. Mary, who is deaf, continues to inspire through her creativity, warmth and dedication, showing what true inclusion looks like in action.

Her independent brand, SA’ART, features hand carved and hand pressed designs filled with imagination and care. We’re so proud that her creations are now part of the café’s vibrant space.

If you’ve supported Epic Arts over the past 16 years, chances are you’ve already met Mary.

Next time you’re in Kampot, pop by the café, grab a coffee and discover her unique designs, each piece celebrating artistry and inclusion.

Impact Update

Creating Opportunities in Kampot Schools

Epic Arts is proud to run five Integration Classes across Kampot, supporting 62 children with disabilities to learn in local primary schools alongside their peers. While the children study in separate classrooms, they share the same school environment, joining assemblies, playing together at break time and becoming part of the wider school community.

This approach not only ensures that children with disabilities receive tailored support for their learning needs, but also helps to break down barriers, reduce stigma and build friendships across differences. And the momentum is growing! Epic Arts is now working to set up our sixth Integration Class, opening the door for even more children to access education and be included in their local schools.
