January 2025 Update

January 2025

Happy New Year

What's been happening at Epic Arts.

January has been a productive month at Epic Arts as we continue to foster inclusion and support communities. In celebration of International Education Day on January 24 we reaffirmed our belief that every child, regardless of ability, deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Our Social Work team made a significant impact by delivering 10 bicycles, 13 school packs, and 13 food packs to children with disabilities and vulnerable families.

Meanwhile, the Epic Arts Dance team are busy preparing for upcoming performances in Hanoi next month where they will continue to use the power of creative arts to raise awareness and promote social change.

Thanks again to all of our Epic Arts supporters, we really appreciate everything you do to help us spread the word that every person counts (EPiC)!

Inspiring Stories

January marks a special time for Epic Arts staff to come together for our annual retreat. This is an opportunity to reflect on the past year, celebrate both individual and collective achievements and foster stronger connections among team members.

We take this time to recognize everyone’s contributions, reflect on the Epic Arts’ strengths and identify areas for growth and improvement in the year ahead.

This month, we want to take a moment to thank and celebrate the incredible team at Epic Arts for their unwavering commitment, passion and dedication to promoting disability inclusion. Their tireless work empowers individuals with disabilities to live fully inclusive lives, transforms perceptions and creates lasting positive change in Cambodia and beyond.

Events and Performances

We are thrilled to announce the graduation of our latest Inclusive Arts Course (IAC) students. This transformative year long program provides vocational training in performing arts, visual arts, hospitality and salon services, equipping youth with disabilities with essential skills and confidence for their future careers.

We wish all graduates the very best and look forward to supporting them as they embark on their exciting journeys ahead.

Inclusive Arts

We're turning the clock back 10 years with a special throwback to Epic Arts' very own music video parody of Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars.

In this fun filled, high energy music video the Epic Arts Dance team brought their creativity, talent and humor to life whilst spreading our inclusivity message.

So get ready for some funky moves and catchy beats as we revisit this iconic parody video from the past.

    Impact Update

Epic Arts partners with Kon Sat primary school providing integrated
classes for children with disabilities (CwD).

Initially, integrated classes were held once per week, but now have expanded to five days per week which better supports students' learning needs.

Ven Sokun, school director, highlighted that learning one day a week was insufficient for CwD, as they require more frequent classes due to different learning abilities. Before the integrated classes, CwD were placed in general classrooms, where they often struggled, leading to high levels of school dropout.

Integrated classes have been well received by teachers, parents and students. Parents are happy because their children now have equal access to education and the teaching style focuses on individualized support.

Looking ahead, the state school director hopes for greater societal integration of CwD, where they are treated equally and can contribute to society independently. He believes that, with the right support, CwD’s can learn at their own pace, develop confidence and succeed in society.
