Checking in from Kampot. Big moments this May
What's been happening at Epic Arts.
This month has been full of powerful steps forward in inclusion, child protection and community connection across Kampot.
We've also hosted our regular Peer Group and Parent Club meetings, creating safe, empowering spaces for children with disabilities and their families to connect, share and grow stronger together.
Our Social Work team led impactful ChildSafe trainings with Amber Kampot Resort, helping hotel staff become active allies in protecting children from abuse and exploitation. We're proud that 40 staff are now certified, with more to follow!
On a leadership note, we’re thrilled to share that our CEO, Sokny Onn, has been appointed to the Felm Internal Board of Advisors, ensuring disability inclusion remains central in development conversations.
To all our incredible supporters, thank you. Your continued belief in our mission helps us champion a world where every person counts (EPiC). 🙌
Inspiring Stories
📚 Every Child Counts: Inclusive Education in Action
At Epic Arts we believe every child has the right to learn, grow and shine, no matter their ability. That belief comes to life through our Inclusive Education Programme which is currently supporting over 60 students across Kampot. 20 students with disabilities attend daily classes at the Epic Arts Centre, receiving specialised education tailored to their individual needs. An additional 42 students learn in inclusive classrooms across four local primary schools in Kampot, where Epic Arts teachers support students of all abilities to learn side by side.
Inclusive education is about more than access. It’s about changing mindsets. When children with disabilities learn alongside their peers the impact is felt by everyone: Students without disabilities learn empathy and respect. Teachers gain new skills in creative and adaptive teaching. Families and communities begin to see potential, not limitation. Together, we’re building classrooms where every child is valued and every child belongs.

🌏 Socheat Shares the Stage at True Colors Festival in Singapore
This month, we were proud to see Epic Arts Dance performer Socheatrepresent Cambodia and the disability arts community at COLONY: A True Colors Festival Project in Singapore!
As part of Singapore International Festival of Arts, The True Colors Festival is global platform for artists with disabilities and COLONY brought together performers from across Asia to explore connection, identity and inclusion through dance, music and storytelling.
Socheat was selected to take part in a month of intensive collaborative creation alongside other artists with diverse backgrounds, abilities and nationalities.
Through movement and shared experience, Socheat showcased not only his talent, but also the values at the heart of Epic Arts: that art has the power to break barriers and build belonging.
We’re incredibly proud of Socheat for his leadership and representation on the international stage, and grateful to the COLONY team for making space for voices like his to shine.
