What's been happening at Epic Arts
November was a busy month at Epic Arts, full of learning, celebration and impact. We joined over 60 participants at the NBSAP consultation workshop with the Ministry of Environment and UNDP, helping to finalize Cambodia’s national biodiversity targets and ensuring inclusive voices are part of shaping a sustainable future.
We supported 100 children with disabilities across four schools with school packs, helping them start the year ready to learn, participate and thrive.
Epic Arts Cafe proudly joined UN Women Cambodia’s WEPs Corporate Action Lab, committing to women’s empowerment, inclusive leadership and stronger workplaces.
We also welcomed long time donors Felm Cambodia and the Helsinki Parish Union to our newest inclusive classroom at Maha Samaky Primary School, giving them the chance to see inclusive education in action.

Listening to Change: Celebrating Deaf Awareness 2025
Epic Arts had the incredible opportunity to be part of the Deaf Awareness Conference 2025 at Himawari Hotel in Phnom Penh, and it was unforgettable.
This wasn’t just another conversation about inclusion; it was a day spent mapping out real change together. Leaders, educators and advocates from across Cambodia’s Deaf community came together to tackle the questions that matter most like:
"What steps can we take TODAY to create meaningful change?"
Our very own Ork Savy, Supervisor & Team Leader at Epic Arts Dance, joined an inspiring panel alongside:
- Mr. Hang Kimchhorn, Deputy Director, NISE Cambodia
- Mr. Sau Soknym, Director, Deaf Development Programme
The group discussions? Electric. The ideas? Transformative. The energy in the room? Proof that when communities come together, barriers start to fall.

Community, Creativity and Inclusion at the BritCham Gala
This month Epic Arts Dance had the honour of performing at BritCham Cambodia's 30th Anniversary Great British Gala. We are incredibly grateful to BritCham Cambodia, Unilever Cambodia and Pernod Ricard/Kingdom Drinks for raising an amazing $2,000 USD to support our work in inclusive arts and education.
One of the standout moments was seeing Epic Arts Dance take the stage with Come Back Brighter, a powerful piece that journeys through Cambodia’s rich arts history from the 1960s to today. The audience was captivated, thoroughly enjoying every moment as our dancers brought the story to life.
As Emma, our Epic Arts Dance Manager, shared:
“This performance was truly one of a kind. It celebrated creativity without limits, showing what our dancers, each with unique abilities, can achieve together. Performing at the BritCham Gala allowed us to share inclusive dance with an audience that may be seeing it for the first time.”
The funds raised at the Gala directly support our inclusive programs in Kampot, helping us continue championing disability inclusion through the power of the creative arts.

A Royal Visit Celebrating Inclusion and Creativity
We had the profound honour of welcoming Her Highness Princess Sylvia Sisowath, founder of Centre Education Kep (CEK) and Secretary of State Advisor to the Private Cabinet of His Majesty The King to Epic Arts this month.
Her Highness's visit offered a meaningful opportunity to showcase the heart of our work. She toured our inclusive education, community programs and visited Epic Arts Cafe, witnessing how we create spaces where everyone belongs and every voice matters. A highlight of the day came when Epic Arts Dance took to the stage, delivering a special performance that brought our mission to life.
As Her Highness watched creativity and inclusion unfold before her eyes, the performance became a testament to what's possible when we break down barriers and celebrate diverse abilities.
The visit sparked rich conversations about the transformative role the arts can play in building a more inclusive Cambodia. These discussions reminded us that change happens not in isolation, but through shared vision and collaborative commitment.
We are deeply grateful to Her Highness for her time, her thoughtful engagement and her dedication to advancing inclusive and creative opportunities for all Cambodians. Her visit strengthens our resolve to continue this vital work, knowing that together, we are creating a future where everyone can participate, contribute and shine.
Impact Update
Building Tomorrow's Inclusive Classrooms Today
Twenty seven future teachers walked into Epic Arts this month carrying textbooks and lesson plans. They left carrying something far more valuable: the understanding that every child deserves a place in the classroom.
For two days, these students from Kampot Provincial Teachers' and Vocational Training School immersed themselves in what inclusive education truly means. They learned to identify disabilities, understand children's rights and master specialised teaching strategies that transform good educators into champions for all students.
But the breakthrough came when theory stepped aside for reality. Our future teachers met face to face with students with disabilities, transforming abstract concepts into genuine human connections. They witnessed the power of expression through an Epic Arts Dance performance, seeing firsthand how ability takes countless beautiful forms.
These aren't just teachers gaining skills, they're becoming advocates who will shape inclusive classrooms from their very first day. Every lesson they teach, every student they support, will ripple outward, building the inclusive communities our children deserve.
This is how change happens: one teacher, one classroom, one child at a time.
